I grew up in a rural part of the central Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania. I've always loved drawing and after a vocational curriculum in Commercial Art, during my junior and senior years of high school, I moved to Denver, Colorado. My art education was nurtured at the Art Institute of Colorado where I earned a degree in Advertising Design. I have contributed thirty years of graphic design expertise in advertising and publishing for a diverse list of clients and I am currently freelancing in metro Detroit, MI. My present focus is on mastering the world of web design through CSS as I update my skills in new industry developments. I enjoy browsing the multitude of great web design available on the internet, reading web developer blogs, and learning web standards.
I've designed and produced magazines, catalogs, direct mail, tradeshow materials, newsletters and web sites, to name a few. My clients have been as diverse as chemical purchasing, electronic design engineering, airline industry, auto industry and student/business libraries. My career has offered me many opportunities to learn and grow, which continues to this day. Presently I am picking up various freelance projects such as a book called The Nutrilite Story for Amway/Alticor, a web site for the Grosse Pointe Pre-Kindergarten and a blog for the Ornament Shop.
In my spare time, I enjoy drawing, reading, knitting, walking and riding bike. I love music and I am teaching myself to play the piano. I also love creating raw live food cuisine and I have a goal of creating a healthier lifestyle for myself and my friends. I also enjoy doing tutorials in various software programs because I seem to have become a bit of a computer geek.
